What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise Zachary Taylor National Cemetery for its immaculate condition and the profound sense of respect it evokes. The mausoleum and grounds are described as befitting a president and a national resting place. While the cemetery is generally well-maintained, some note safety concerns regarding the entrance's lack of a turn lane.
"I've been to several presidential resting places and this was one of the nicest ones. Very well manicured and much care has been taken to create a respectful and revered resting place. Zachary Taylor's tomb and monument are befitting of a president. I also appreciate that they left the original site (not far from the final tomb) intact for historical purposes.
As for the rest of the cemetary, it reads like a mini-Arlington. Everything was pristine and extremely well cared for.. Names are carefully organized on-site via a 3-ring binder in a metal box, or digitally by scanning a QR code."

"Located inside the beautiful, peaceful grounds of this military cemetery is the final resting place of President Taylor and a monument dedicated in his honor. The above ground mausoleum allows visitors to look through the clear glass doors to view the stone sarcophagi of the President and his wife. Behind this mausoleum is the original below ground mausoleum where the President’s remains were initially interred. I would recommend a visit if in the area."

"There is no left hand turn lane or even a center turn lane which makes it super unsafe for turns. Cemetery was pretty. Went just to see Zachary Taylor."
