What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about Mammoth Cave National Park's incredible scale and natural beauty, calling it a 'national treasure.' The knowledgeable guides and the unique experience of exploring the world's longest cave system are frequently praised. However, some find certain tours challenging due to steps and tight spaces, and booking tours well in advance is crucial.
"Beautiful. We enjoyed touring the caves with guides but also on our own. Very well kept. The Frozen Niagara tour was wonderful for beginners and kids. The little restaurant was tasty and the coffee ice cream was amazing. Clean bathrooms. Friendly staff. We can't wait to come back!"

"A must see place for all nature lovers!! I was driving to Chicago and stayed the night in Kentucky and I absolutely knew that I had to stop by mammoth cave park before I continued my journey and I only wish that I had more time to spend in the cavern! I was able to do the self guided tour and I went on a national holiday so it was free to get in! Theres a wonderful mini museum in the front of the building so you can learn about the history of the area before you start your journey! I spent about 35-45 minutes doing the self guided tour because I really wanted to immerse myself in the cave and really look at all the details and I also got to speak to a very nice and knowledgeable guide who was kindly answering questions that other people had about the cave. It was such a great experience and I learned so much about the cavern and the surrounding towns I really can’t wait to come back!"

"To me, the cave of this size (400+ miles) & condition is more amazing to form than the Niagara Fall, which itself is impressive in the sheer volume of water and its height. On the contrary, even though this cave was formed or etched by water flow long time ago, it is now very much dry and very sturdy, not much trace of water except in selected lowest areas. Some of its bigger halls are close to hundred feet, without even any need of artificial support. It definitely needs to go in to feel how amazing nature could even possible to create something like this cave while leaving it hard and dry for us to walk through it."
