That is an amazing location. So little is really known about the purpose of the site. Then, the shear numbers of man-hours it took to built the “walls” is immense. Had to be a generational endeavor. I really suggest you take the tour provided by the rangers.

For those about to go to Bonnaroo, a tip from a local in Manchester TN. During the hot days about to come please visit a beautiful place only 6 miles away, Perfect for a swim in the waterfalls hollow. (OLD STONE FORT)
Old stone fort is my Favorite place on earth, it is my haven, it is my joy and it is Beautiful. I highly recommend taking a couple hours to make the 5-6 mile trek from Bonnaroo to this amazing place (1.2 hours walk). . Climbing the waterfalls and swimming in the waterfalls pools…
