"We booked the South Ferry Church for our August 2021 wedding. It was so picturesque and in a private, secluded area. Parking lot made it easy for guests. It is definitely a DIY location - the church itself is pretty bare but is so bright and beautiful all we brought in was an arbor, pew decor, door garland, and flower pots for outside. Everyone raved about its beauty and simplicity! There is no pastor or clergy running the church, so you can bring in your own officiant for the wedding! We were given full access to the chapel and were able to come and go as we pleased, which really helped with planning.
We really loved the location so much but must note just a few cons. There is no air conditioning. Some of the windows did not open, but most did. We lucked out with an 80 degree not humid day, so it was just a little warm during the ceremony. There are also no restrooms, but we contacted a local portable restroom company and they came to drop it off at the location no problem. We had 100 guests at our wedding which fit comfortably, but I wouldn't recommend much more than that, especially if you're needing to social distance.
Other than that, it really was the perfect ceremony location. It really wowed guests as a unique location and made for some beautiful pictures!"
