Best coastal day trips nearby
Hubby and I will be visiting our daughter in Salem next week, and beyond exploring Salem itself, what are you recommendations for a half-day drive to any of the coastal areas? We aren’t into “beach time”, although like walking on a beach or just around the beach town itself.…

"Really great, super kid friendly park. There is a play area, an easy trail with fun signs along the way, and some trails by the water, with great views of the I95 bridge. Loads of off leash dogs which the kids loved."
Michael Tonry
"We did a little over a mile in 37 minutes. It's not a bad trail but more of a dog park. Several discarded dog poop bags litter the trail which had plenty of trash barrels. No bugs at all today. Plenty of park and picnic benches at the park. Plenty of parking. There was poison ivy close to the trail at various points. Nice views of the bridges and water. The trails don't have any markings at all."
Joseph Costello
"We love the off leash dog part of this park! We stopped there every time we drive from Maine to Boston! and on the way back!
I appreciate the space between trails and how winding some of them are- we can interact with other dogs if we want to and we don't have to if we don't want to! And the little hills and the books!"
