Reviews Summary

The diverse ecosystems offer a rich natural experience, though some note the presence of sand and the need for preparedness regarding heat and ticks. Fishing and boating are also highlighted as enjoyable activities.
"I have been here a few times over the years, lots of trails and roads to walk on. If you're not on sand, you're on grass. Twice. I have walked the power line trail which starts about a half mile into the main entrance. Pellicer Creek was named after the settler Francisco Pellicer who built his homestead along the banks of the creek around 1800 . It was also called wood cutters Creek at one time because of a large timber milk located there. There are alligators great blue heron mullet night heron, bald eagles and other wildlife. Since Florida deer moved through this location, there are ticks. I discovered two walking up my shoe from walking the power line trail. So check for ticks when you leave the preserve. Make sure to bring water with you as it does get hot and there is no water source available."

"I fished for bass at the pond and had fun, but only had a couple bites, nothing landed. I would like to go back when I have more time. Saw a small alligator that hangs out near the dock! It was pretty neat."
Vernon
"Nice little trail area with two separate fishing areas."
