Beach Recommendations? Clean, Pretty, Uncrowded, with Bathrooms?

My family and I will be in Florida in mid-August, and we're looking for beach recs. We'll have 3 young children, so we're hoping to find something that isn't ***too*** crowded and has bathrooms (totally cool if the bathrooms are a short walk away). Entrance fees are no issue.…

Reviews Summary

Johnson Beach is highly praised for its serene atmosphere, abundant wildlife, and beautiful natural setting, offering a welcome escape from more crowded tourist spots. While entry fees apply and food options are limited, visitors find the experience well worth it for the chance to see dolphins, enjoy the soft sand, and explore the nature trail. It's a favorite for those seeking a peaceful, nature-filled beach day.

"Our favorite beach in the area. Less crowded and commercial than Pensacola or Orange Beach. It’s part of Gulf Island Natl. Seashore, so there is a fee, but we have the National Park pass so we’re covered.

We’ve seen dolphin, stingrays and all kinds of birds - including big blue ones…"

"I am not a beach person, but Johnson’s Beach truly has changed my mind. The water is warm, the sand soft, and there are animals literally everywhere. In the water fish kissed our feet, crabs and cranes walked by, and birds and gulls were flying. We went very end of August and the temperature was perfect and the beaches were not crowded. HIGHLY recommend this beach. There is also a short walking trail.

The main pavilion has bathrooms, a lifeguard, and showers. There are multiple inlets to get to the beach."

"I love going to the beach here. The first spot has bathrooms, a lifeguard, and showers. If you go down further you have parking across the road from the beach and it's more peaceful. During the week, it's usually less than ten families set up. You can set up whatever tent or canopy you want. We have enjoyed our week going here. There is a ice machine right before entering the park along with some food trucks. The fee is $25 to enter and that gives you 1-7 day access or you can do an annual pass for $45 and of course they honor the national park passes. The first day we saw dolphins and then the jellyfish got bad, the second day there were some seaweed/junegrass, and the third was perfect. You never know what mother nature will do and it can change within minutes, but there is not such thing as a bad beach day."
