Is Barview Jetty a decent, quiet-ish campground for an overnight trip from Portland?
I've car camped at some of the state park campgrounds along the Oregon coast, which have been great. I've also camped at a couple of county campgrounds on the coast, which have been less than great. Is anyone here a fan of Barview Jetty campground -- or particularly *not* a fan?…

It’s my dream to visit a tide pool, what’s the best way to visit?!
I am from the east coast, but I have dreamed about seeing a tide pool for years. I’ve never been to the west coast, I don’t know what beaches have tide pools, what town I should stay in. Any suggestions? Thank you!
Help! Trying to find a specific campsite on the coast.
About 14 years ago on a trip down the coast I stumbled across an amazing campsite near the beach and I cannot find it anywhere now. I’ll try to describe it. It was a spiderweb network of little roads. Each pull in site was surrounded by small brush/trees. On the coast side,…

What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Barview Jetty Park offers convenient beach access and free hot showers, making it a popular choice for coastal camping. However, some visitors have experienced issues with attentive park staff and noise from fellow campers, and campsite sizes can be misleading. Booking in advance is highly recommended, especially for summer trips.
"I can never stay here again after our last stay sat nov 8th. I checked in early to site 75, we were the only campers there so we stuck out like a sore thumb to the harassing park staff. We paid our fees, however park staff bothered us constantly about where we parked and drove around in gas golf carts staring at us all day. Seems as if they have a large staff of park hosts/employees, with very little to do. Then 9pm came and the local rednecks came through after park staff had left, I was abruptly hit with the awful smell of lighter fluid and was woke up to 4 loud obnoxious campers dumping an entire bottle of lighter fluid on wet tree limbs. The smell was so terrible it forced us to pack up and leave at 10pm after we had paid big money for this site. Lastly, they put in obnoxiously huge speed bumps throughout the park. If you don’t want to damage your trailer suspension, you’ll need to slow down to 2-3mph. I wouldn’t recommend this campground at all, especially not for families."

"This was a nice campground, very easy to get to ocean they have a trail that leads straight to it and it was only a 12 minute walk. They also had a little lagoon that goes out to the ocean that was maybe a 2 minute walk and very pretty with lots of cool sea creatures. The area was nice and clean when we arrived. The campsite we booked said it could fit 10 people and we only had 5 with two tents and were pretty cramped so just be mindful of that. Not sure how they calculate how many people can fit. Other than that it was a nice trip."

"Nice place to camp with friends and family. It can be quite crowded in summer but we found people to be most respectful of noise at night. Camping sites are mostly private but definitely recommend doing research of the camping spot before booking. We didn’t have much privacy but it turned out just fine with nice neighbors."
