The park's convenient location and peaceful atmosphere are frequently highlighted. Some guests noted that the bathrooms in the historic cabins can be quite small, a minor inconvenience for some.
"This is a beautiful park. It has cabins to rent. The views to the lake are amazing!
There is a village 30 minutes from the park called Ancient Lore Village. Must go!"
Mariana Tallman
"Great park with hiking trails, picnic areas, cabins for rent and of course, lots of water! The visitor center was helpful for finding hiking trails and there were plenty of places to go for peace and quiet. We weren’t boating, but others were and it looked like fun."
Debbie Bernardo
"Great park, minutes off I75, tons to do! Many families chilling by bonfires in early Spring. Just a few minutes South of the Kentucky Stateline at the City of Rocky Top TN.
We reserved cabin #16, but before leaving KY we got an email indicating #16 was broken, and we were now in #20. So glad the park service is on the ball, they saved our getaway over St Patrick's day!
Cabin #20 is a historic CCC cabin, built in the early 1940s, refurbished with modern amenities yet old school charm.
Nice comfortable bed, new refrigerator, stove, microwave, counter top, and well maintained.
Our only 1st world issue was the bathroom was tight, like 17 inches tight, from sink to wall. Room is 35 inches wide, shower on one end, toilet on other, and sink in the middle. To get tothe toilet, you have to turn sideways and slip between sink and wall. Also, to take a shower, you have to slide in front of the sink, close the door, then access the shower. You have heard not enough room to whip a cat, this is your example for sure.
Beyond that it is fantastic 👏 with outdoor grill, fire ring, chairs, and screened porch with a swing. Very nice for relaxing evening making Smores 😊"
