"It was fun we went in the morning so it was a little cooler. We bought tickets online in advance as they are cheaper and depending what day you go the price is adjusted so definitely check online. All of the animals were out and enjoying their day. Staff was super friendly and was enthusiastic."

"My son and I had the incredible opportunity to attend an Overnight Safari at the Sacramento Zoo — an experience tailored for Cub Scouts, though they also offer a Family Overnight Safari that I’d highly recommend to any family with a child who loves animals.
The event was filled with magical moments. From a small amphitheater-style show featuring live animals like a red-tailed boa, a horned owl, and an opossum, to the care demonstrations and hands-on learning opportunities, everything was thoughtfully designed to engage and inspire young minds.
Spending the night inside the zoo was a unique adventure in itself. Waking up and getting to explore the zoo even more the next morning — before it opened to the public — was a major highlight. We rode the train, the carousel, visited the gift shop, and took our time visiting all the animals we missed the night before.
The staff were exceptional: kind, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about their work. They made the experience even more special for my son and I.
If you’re considering something memorable for your child — especially if they’re a Scout or simply love animals — this is it. An amazing time that we won’t soon forget!"
