What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Guests rave about the Menger Hotel's unbeatable location, historic charm, and friendly staff, making it a top choice for exploring San Antonio. While some note minor issues with AC or dated amenities, the overall experience is overwhelmingly positive, with many praising the ambiance and convenience. The hotel's haunted reputation also adds a unique thrill for many visitors.
"This is my first time ever staying here and I absolutely love it. Even with the construction going on around the area, getting to the valet was pretty easy, and I love how close the hotel is to everything so we could walk anywhere pretty much. Walking into the hotel, the first thing I noticed was the scent. I know to some, maybe it's a little strong but I love the fragrance whatever it is. I need that for my room at home. As far as the rooms go, the beds are comfy and loved that our room had a little balcony overlooking the pool. The staff is very friendly and helpful and made check in a breeze. Overall this hotel is perfect spot to enjoy a weekend getaway.
I will say the only con for me is the AC. It's just really minor thing because I get hot really easily so I need constant air flow lol. Other than that, everything was perfect."

"As a local San Antonian, I can't believe I waited so long to experience the Sunday brunch at the historic Menger Hotel. From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was absolutely captivating — the elegant architecture and the soothing sounds of the classical guitar player created a truly memorable atmosphere.
The service was exceptional. And the food was absolutely delicious — a perfect blend of variety, quality, and presentation.
It reminded me how many gems we locals sometimes overlook in our own city. I'm so grateful I finally took advantage of this one, and I will definitely be returning — next time with friends in tow.
Highly recommend to anyone looking for a special and relaxing Sunday experience."
