Reviews Summary

Visitors are consistently awestruck by the breathtaking panoramic views from San Jacinto Peak, often calling it one of the best hikes they've ever done. The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway is frequently praised for its scenic journey and accessibility, making the summit achievable for many. Some find the final ascent to the peak rocky and challenging, and it's important to be prepared for alpine weather changes.

"Backpacked starting at Deer Springs Trailhead. Camping at little round valley. Great views/ scenery throughout the hike. Summit was amazing. As of 7-20-2025 there's still low, but good water flow about 1.25 miles prior to Little Round Valley Campground, and the Creek flowing through said campground is still a good water source."

Richard Thagon

"Absolutely blown away by San Jacinto Peak! We took the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway, which was already an amazing experience in itself – climbing quickly from the desert floor into the cool alpine landscape. From there, we hiked to the summit, and it was absolutely worth it!

The views are just breathtaking – endless ridges, forests, and even glimpses of the ocean on a clear day. The trail was peaceful, beautiful, and filled with stunning scenery at every turn.

Reaching the summit at 10,834 ft was an unforgettable moment. The quiet up there, the 360-degree views... it’s something we’ll carry with us for a long time.

Highly recommend this adventure – using the tram makes it accessible, and the hike still offers a true mountain experience. One of the best we've ever done!"
