What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
San Jose Diridon Station is a historic transit hub with mixed reviews. While appreciated for its classic architecture and role as a major connector for Caltrain, Amtrak, and ACE, some visitors note issues with restroom availability, inconsistent retail services, and the need for better upkeep. The ongoing redevelopment promises future improvements.
"San Jose’s transit center for Cal Train, Amtrak, and other public transportation services. Has a small but nice indoor seating space to wait before your train. Much more nice than the station up in SF."
Nick P.
"Diridon is a nice station. It has a restroom that always seems to be closed for cleaning...... and the staff is very rude if u ask if u can use it really quick. The tracks are clearly labeled however the long ramps nake for a long transfer if its not neighboring rails. There is food available at the snack bar here, but it is cash only and the atm charges $4. The convenient thing is that a lot of bus routes stop here so commuting is a bit easier."

"This building probably has seen better days. It's very old and outdated but it's nice to see them try to keep it's original architecture.
The waiting room is roomy but the seats could use a major cleaning. Everytime I got up or moved my clothing would stick. Not to mention how many homeless people have been sleeping on the benches. So a good deep cleaning is needed.
There is not much here for amenities. The only retail establishment inside is a news stand, which was closed during my visit.
The lack of signage (arrival/departure) for Amtrak is a drawback. There are plenty of signs for CalTrain and VTA but only one for Amtrak."
