"Have you ever attended a Greek Orthodox Service during the Easter Season? Holy Friday is remarkable for the reason that the hymns sung during this service chronicle the life, crucifixion and death of Jesus.
The melodies are captivating and if I may, a shout out to Alexis Krenitsy Ganos, choir director who skillfully manipulates the beautiful voices within the very Byzantine chanting. The melodies this evening were the ones I grew up with and remind me of the time there were no seats to be had in this amphitheater like place of worship.
God is here. Please attend our Easter Pascha midnight service… so much beauty and pageantry but faith filled, Biblical, ancient yet up to date. Tonight we passed beneath the Epitaphion, the cloth on which the body of Christ is depicted. We die with him but as we pass beneath, we emerge victorious and see a glimpse of Heaven.

If you are a Romanian Orthodox living in Milwaukee looking for a parish, this and St. Cyril and Methodius are great places and “homes” for you. Slight bonus points for Annunciation because the priest is from Timișoara (and a super nice person), so part of the service is in Romanian as well as Greek!
A welcoming parish, nice parish members, and it feels great to reconnect to the Holy Spirit. Plus go here if you can just to marvel at the architecture! Frank Lloyd Wright really outdid himself here.
