What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary

However, hikers should be prepared for a strenuous, largely uphill climb with minimal shade, and be aware of potential wildlife like rattlesnakes and ticks.
"Spring Wildflowers at Coyote Wall — Absolutely Stunning!
After hiking Dog Mountain at the end of last May, I completely fell in love with wildflower hikes. On April 25, we visited Coyote Wall Trail — and it absolutely blew me away. The scenery is not only beautiful and dramatic, but the blooming wildflowers were breathtaking — it truly felt like heaven on earth.
We hiked about 6 miles, and with plenty of stops for photos, it took us around 4 hours.
Tips:
•Wear long pants to protect yourself from ticks. Also hiking poles can be helpful.
•We encountered two rattlesnakes along the trail, but they were not aggressive — they rattled to warn us and moved away on their own.
•Even though it was spring, the weather was hot — make sure to bring plenty of water, wear sunscreen, and be prepared for almost no shade.
Highly recommend visiting during wildflower season — it’s an unforgettable experience!
No pass is required. No parking fee but limited parking space."

"With reluctance I am offering my review of this beautiful place. Currently it is less popular than other sites in the Columbia gorge and it would be lovely to stay that way! 😊 There is beautiful, mixed terrain and fantastic panoramic views of the gorge. If you visit, please do your part to keep the trail clean, and stay on the trail to keep the landscape beautiful too! Some trails are shared with mountain bikes."

"Beautiful trail. Lots of flowers at the top on 4/26/25. A little steep hike before reaching the wildflowers. Ran into a small rattlesnake on my way down so be sure to stay on the trail and keep your dog close. Would definitely hike again."
