Reviews Summary

Visitors praise Glen Helen Nature Preserve for its beautiful natural scenery, including waterfalls, ancient trees, and a unique marsh ecosystem shaped by beavers. The nearby town of Yellow Springs adds to its appeal. However, some find the $10 parking fee steep for the amenities offered, and trail signage can be lacking.

"A great hike. The scenery is beautiful and not like I see on hikes closer to Cincinnati. There are some hills but seems very manageable. You can stumble upon some great little areas and hidden gems as well. Check out the town after for some great food!"

Jessica Ellington

"Is the area interesting and diverse? Yes. Worth paying $10 to park with no access to bathrooms (they were closed for a private event)? Not for me. I understand the proceeds go to the raptor center, and that's great, but we didn't visit the raptor center. I'd be willing to pay for parking, but $10 is steep for what you are granted access to. Others have said there are other areas to park that you don't have to pay? The trails are well maintained but lack signage. Download a copy of the trail map so the numbers on the trail make sense. The beaver dam was interesting to see. The loop hike was fairly easy after the 100+ stone stairs to get to the bottom of the gorge."

Angela Werling

"Glen Helen Park in Yellow Springs is a breathtaking gem, especially in the fall.
The trails glow with vibrant reds, oranges, and golds, creating a magical autumn escape.
Peaceful streams and scenic overlooks make every step feel refreshing and serene.
A must-visit destination if you want to witness Ohio’s fall foliage at its finest!"
