Reviews Summary
Visitors generally praise Typhoon Lagoon for its thrilling wave pool and exciting slides like Humunga Kowabunga. The park offers a fun tropical escape with good photo opportunities. However, some find certain slides intense and advise on practical packing tips to enhance the experience.
"Great water park, we had lots of fun. But please bare in mind there are weight limits for rides, for lots of rides you can't be over 100kg! The queues were fairly long."
Zoe Bredenkamp
"It is a tourist attraction, so I think all staff should understand basic English, but most of them can only say hello. Even asking about specific things, like "how many on a ride?" Or "Can I go alone on the ride?", the answer at the people at the bottom will be a nod of the head or just a smile and then you get to the top and get stopped and you'll have to turn around and walk all the way back down or you have to join strangers on a ride."
Manfred du Plooy
"Great water park all in all. A lot of flumes and a good variety, not much English spoken but that’s no issue.
DONT expect to go on everything if your >100kg, some of the flumes are "

Typhoon Preparedness: Essential Advice for Travelers
For those visiting coastal areas like Ha Long Bay, it's essential to cancel all boat tours and water activities well in advance. Ferries and other transportation may cease operations days before a storm hits due to strong winds. If you are in an area that might be affected, check with your accommodation about their operational status and safety protocols. Some travelers have noted that even after a typhoon passes, areas like Cat Ba Island can still show significant damage, with debris in the streets and limited services.
It's also important to heed local government announcements regarding safety measures and potential evacuations. While life in major cities like Hanoi may return to normal relatively quickly after a storm, other regions might require more time for recovery. If you have flexibility, consider adjusting your itinerary to avoid areas that are still heavily impacted or at high risk of further issues like landslides in mountainous regions.
