Estadio Akron

Guadalajara, Jalisco, MexicoFIFA venue: Estadio Guadalajara

About

Estadio Akron is a striking, volcano-inspired bowl in Zapopan, home to Club Deportivo Guadalajara (Chivas). Capacity around 49,000, it generates passionate, loud atmospheres. The canopy design creates excellent acoustics, and the Chivas fanbase is among Mexico's most fervent.

History

Opened in 2010, Estadio Akron (formerly Estadio Omnilife) was built specifically for Chivas to leave shared Estadio Jalisco. It hosted 2011 Pan American Games football and 2016 Copa América Centenario matches, establishing itself as one of Mexico's premier modern venues.
