Reviews Summary

Visitors rave about the stunning scenery, diverse native wildflowers, and challenging mountain trails of Stirling Range National Park. The views from peaks like Bluff Knoll are consistently described as breathtaking and unforgettable. However, some note that the larger mountains require significant effort and can be dangerous for the less athletic, and camping options within the park are limited.

"Awesome for scenery, native wildflowers including native orchids, mountain walk trails, the vastness of the trees and wilderness, and it has its own special smell. If you are not young or athletic the larger mountains will take a lot of time and effort, with some danger too, but amazing. Camping options limited to nearby private venues. Must see!"

"This is the only mountain range in the southern part of WA situated around 80 km north and northeast of Albany. Entry is AUD$17 per standard vehicle. There are camping/caravan areas within the NP and northern boundary and the Park is easily accessible for those staying overnight in Albany.

Stirling Range has a handful of challenging hikes which you can learn about on All Trails and the ExploreParks WA - Stirling Range NP website, including the popular Bluff Knoll trail which we tackled last month. We very much enjoyed the flora and remarkable views along this trail and would eagerly return to complete this hike again and to attempt others within the Range.

There is also a 42-km scenic drive through the Stirling Range but it is unsealed road, something to be mindful of if you are using a rental vehicle during your visit. Some allow travel on unsealed roads through National Parks, others might not."

"This place is absolutely amazing! If you’re planning to hike Bluff Knoll, I highly recommend practicing 3 km of stairs up and 3 km of stairs down, it’s a real workout! The view from the top are absolutely breathtaking, and photos truly don’t do them justice. A hiking stick is a must—if not for the climb up, then definitely for the way down. An unforgettable experience!"
