Pigeon House Mountain (Didthul) near Ulladulla is short, steep and has incredible views. It's about 7km return in Morton National Park, with a mix of trails and ladders. From the top you get 360° views over the Budawang Range and the Clyde River valley - honestly one of my favourite lookout spots on the South Coast. Always worth checking the NPWS alerts for closures before you go, as conditions ca...

Crossed another one off my list today, Didthul (Pigeon House Mountain). I’d hoped for a view over the National Park + Yadboro State Forest, but Nature decided otherwise and I ended up climbing up into the cloud and fog. Moody. ⛰️ Another local day trip area in NSW, alongside the South Coast’s turquoise beaches • • • • • • • • #didthul #feelnsw #takeahike #hikeaustralia #nswcoast #southcoast #sh...

Reviews Summary

Pigeon House Mountain Didthul is a highly rewarding hike, celebrated for its stunning summit views and the unique challenge of its ladder ascent. While the climb is strenuous and the ladders can be daunting for some, most visitors find the panoramic vistas well worth the effort. The trail offers a varied experience, from steep sections to a pleasant bushwalk, making it a memorable adventure for those prepared for the climb.

"The walk is roughly divided into three parts. The first part is quite steep and probably the most boring one. The middle section is a flat and pleasant walk through the bushes. The last part consists of climbing ladders to the top which can be quite scary if you’re afraid of the height. However, the view on top is really worth it. There, you can see far and discover the vast dimensions of the land with lots of hills, valleys, and trees.

Be careful if you use Google Maps and come from Milton: if it navigates you through Blackburns Road North it's wrong. Someone actually put a sign there at the beginning of Blackburns Road North saying that Google Maps is wrong. Simply, continue on the Woodstock road (which the sign didn't say)... We lost lots of time due to that. I hope that helps."

Jelan Ong

"The climb is quite strenuous (2 hours from carpark to the summit) but the path is otherwise well sign posted. The series of ladders are quite easy to climb. Mobile reception is very patchy. The climb is well worth it!"

Michael

"We were looking for a bushwalk that the kids would enjoy and this one came up trumps it's reasonably steep but not overwhelming and there's a nice long flat strip in the middle of the walk the best bit however is the ladders at the top we actually climb up around the rocks up Steel ladders to get to the top. It was after a little rain and the track was muddy in parts"
