Visitors find the Ancient Serdica Archaeological Complex a fascinating and unexpected historical gem in the heart of Sofia. Its unique integration with the metro system is a highlight, offering a glimpse into Roman history. While some suggest improved signage, the site is considered a must-see for its historical significance and photographic potential.

"Well worth a short stroll through. The signage and information could be a little better so I suggest reading a little about this historic site before visiting. However if you are in the center and don’t take the opportunity to at least pass through here you are definitely missing out. Amazing location for photographers too, especially on a sunny day."

"The ruins are pretty cool and there are plaques everywhere explaining in both Bulgarian and english what you’re looking at. I will admit, I spent about 30ish minutes looking for the entrance but turns out, all the underground entrances that look like they are for the metro are the underground tunnels that lead to the ruins. Hope this helps the next person find it faster than I did!"

"An unexpected historical gem in the heart of Sofia. This well preserved archeological site was uncovered during excavation for a metro station. There are indoor and outdoor portions showcasing mosaics, various artifacts and even sewage systems of the ancient Roman city of Serdika. A very interesting and informative experience. Highly recommend."
