What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about the unique natural beauty of the 'stone river' and the opportunity for scenic hikes and picnics. The accessibility via public transport is a major plus. However, many note that signage can be poor, making navigation challenging for those unfamiliar with the area.
"Signage is pretty awful, if you're not with a local, try to know what you're looking for it was a weekday and there was almost nobody around. I ended up (unintentionally) doing 16 km as I went to boyana waterfalls from the Golden Bridges side. With a boyana lake bonus stopover. If you're doing boyana, be sure to watch for the signs, there are a few in English with warnings about the dangers. I would stick to boyana as then you don't have to take a bus up the mtn and search for trailheads. Many of the signs are in disrepair and far above ones Line of Sight, so the language is an extra challenge"

"The best place in Vitosha for tourism. You can reach it by bus or by car. There are big parking and a lot of places for food and drinks. You can start from there and reach several great places in 1-2h walk including the Boyana waterfall."
