What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Vitosha Nature Park is lauded for its stunning natural beauty, offering breathtaking views from Cherni Vrah peak and unique geological formations like the Moreni Stones. Visitors appreciate the accessibility via public transport and the diverse activities available year-round, from summer hiking to winter sports. While generally positive, some note that lifts may be in concession and not always operational, and bus schedules require careful planning.
"Nice for hiking. Trails were snowy in March 2025. Accessible by public transport (I used bus 61 and 63). Pay by credit card. Two tickets on the same day anywhere in Sofia give you a day pass to bus or metro even to the airport, which is favorable! We could use that in Copenhagen."

"Loved the experience. Take proper shoes!! Have in mind in which season you are going. We went on January 2025 and it was super snowed, with great views.
We took bus 61 (near the national palace of culture) that took us direct to the mountain and a bit on top (so that was great). I read that the lift for snowing was on the other side with other bus. But bus 61 worked great for us, every 30minutes.
Up the mountains the stores where close at 9-10am then we started hiking, there’s different paths and we choose the easy one, and walked like 45min and we found a sky resort, very local and great. Think we were the only tourists but everyone was VERY FRIENDLY. you can rent skies (boots and sticks) including the lift for just 37lev , a great price for the experience. They didn’t have helmet for adults, but it was not obligatory.
Many families, little kids had their own area and of course the easy, medium and expert sky track.
The staff was amazing, very friendly and nice! Thank you!!
They had a restaurante with food, drinks and deserts with good prices. Toilets for free."
