"Spent two days here for the annual “Homecoming.” This place aka The Elgin Settlement, was the largest & most successful of the black settlements born out of the influx of freedom seekers who came to Canada on the Underground Railroad. It is rare to find intact buildings from this era. The schoolhouse, church & museum are the legacy of this amazing community. We had a wonderful time at Homecoming & will return."
