What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about Lonjsko Polje's stunning natural beauty, its status as one of Europe's largest preserved floodplains, and the unique experience of traditional life. The affordable entrance fee and the charm of the stork village are frequently highlighted positives. Some visitors note that amenities can be spread out and public transport is limited, suggesting a car is the best way to explore.
"Lonjsko polje is one of the largest and best-preserved natural floodplains in Europe. The lowland floodplain forests of pedunculate oak and field ash represent the most representative complexes of broadleaf forests in Europe. On the European map of natural features, this attraction ranks first in several respects. It is one of the last areas in Europe where traditional grazing has been preserved, and cattle graze freely on large communal pastures, and it was here that the first stork village in Europe was declared. Very beautiful nature and worth a walk."

"Fantastic Place! Entrance fee is 3€/person. There is a nice 6km walk (doable by bike, but a bit bumpy) with viewing platform in the middle of the nature. Souvenirs sold at the information centre are pretty cheap. Toilets are spotless clean and open 24h. Picnic benches available (roofed as well in case if rent). 100% recommend.
Please leave a like if this review was of any help."

"About 1hr and 15 min from Zagreb, for 8 euro you can go on a hike through the fields, go on an electric boat trip along the waterways and you will learn some interesting facts about this unique area. Opportunities to fish and to visit an eco village."
