Reviews Summary

Visitors find Agios Georgios Archaeological Site to be a charming and historically rich location, offering a glimpse into Byzantine Cyprus for a very affordable price. While the site is compact, the well-preserved mosaics and the nearby chapel are highlights. However, some visitors note issues with the availability of facilities like toilets and recommend visiting early to avoid the sun and potential crowds.

"Lovely place to stop. Only €2.50 per person and can easily spend 30 minutes to an hour, maybe more going round the ruins, climbing and learning etc."

Amy Mathews

"Better visit as early as possible. Even though it is May 9th, got sunburned, so use sunscreen and hats! Wear good, non slippery shoes, stairs are slippery, and felt the rubble while walking in sports shoes! Had two toilets, one was only open and there was no water or electricity! The cafe across the street claimed to nit have toilets and the two public ones, were out of order. Is such a busy spot, needs toilets! We were a group if 40-50 people, had to hold it in until we returned home!😡"

Έλλη Παπαθανάση

"Located a bit off the beaten path, this historical site is definitely worth a visit. The small stone Chapel of St. George, dating back to the 13th century, is a fascinating piece of history. It is situated just 50 meters from the St. George Church, on the opposite side of the street. This charming, ancient chapel adds a unique touch to the area and is a must-see for anyone interested in history and architecture."
