The hike is described as rewarding, offering unique photo opportunities, and the snorkeling is a fantastic way to see marine life. Some note the trail can be steep, requiring good footwear.
"We took a short panga ride from our HX ship for a morning visit to the beach of Punta Pitt. We watched sea lion moms and pups sunning themselves on the sand. A sea lion dad chased 2 pups out of the water to protect them. Part of our tour did the rocky hike up to see the red-footed boobies. The sea lions were unafraid and watched our group from where they lay. After our beach walk, we rode a panga along the island's shore. We spotted fur seals and Nazca boobys on the rocks, and Frigate birds flying above us."
Barb Hauck-Mah (barbhmphilly)
"We came here while on a 2-week cruise of the Galapagos in December 2024. A bit steep in places but not too challenging for those with hiking experience. Sooo thrilling to see the mating dance of the Blue-Footed Boobies!! We hiked for two hours and then snorkeled off the beach for an hour! Wildlife Spotted: Darwin's Finches, Sea Lions, Nazca Booby, Red-Footed Booby, Blue- Footed Booby, Brown Pelican, Lava Lizard, Mockingbird, Magnificent Frigatebird, Mountain Goat."
Eileen Weed
"Nice hike somewhat rocky on the way up. We saw red footed boobies, blue footed boobies doing a mating dance, booby nests. Bottle nosed dolphins seen off the point!"
