What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise Château du Clos Lucé for its unique insight into Leonardo da Vinci's life and inventions, with the outdoor models being a particular highlight. While some note the chateau itself is not as grand as others, the overall experience, especially the gardens and the historical significance, is considered well worth the visit and highly recommended for Da Vinci enthusiasts.
"Enjoyed visiting this interesting chateau where Leonardo da Vinci spent the last few years of his life. Touring this chateau gave insight into his lifestyle and how he spent his time with artifacts, models of his inventions, and interactive installations on the grounds. You could easily spend 3 hours or more here, especially if you have an interest in invention or engineering. Though this chateau is not one of the more extravagant or finely furnished, the site and grounds are charming with a lovely view. We thought the visit was well worth the drive and the walk up the hill to get to the entrance. Parking could be challenging on a crowded day. There is a small lot with free parking and a larger lot with paid parking next to it."

"I really liked the house and garden. Especially appreciated that they made duplicates of the work of Leonardo and put it on display in the gardens. It is very small and you are done quickly. But it's nice with a combination of visiting Ambroise. If you buy tickets at the official website it's not that expensive."
