What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Agumbe Ghat is lauded for its thrilling hairpin bends and breathtaking rainforest scenery, offering an exhilarating driving experience. While many praise its beauty, especially during monsoon, reviewers caution that it's best suited for experienced drivers due to slippery roads and sharp turns. Limited food options and the need to drive before dark are common considerations.
"This was a pretty decent ghat when it comes to drivability. I have been to ghats that are much tougher and cause motion sickness but in that regards the road was much easier. There are a few breathtaking views and the usual jam at Manjrabad fort, otherwise it's a smooth route. There are a few patches after you are off the ghat and also stretch of a few kms of bad road but overall a good experience. If you're looking for decent food options on the ghat, you may not find many."

"One of the best and most dangerous ghats to drive in. Be careful of sharp turns and unexpected jungle animals saying hello. Only for the experienced drivers. Stay in the lane, and do not overtake unless it’s an emergency. As a rainforest, it rains heavily and the roads become slippery. You can spot beautiful waterfalls in between during monsoons. Thrilling experience when driven carefully"

"Amazing road only for experienced driver fully filled with thrill and adventure. View point is good to click couple of pics..
get out of the ghat road before it gets dark, after dark it’s little difficult to drive."
