"The cave is so awesome. This was the most beautiful cave I have ever seen, especially given we were there almost alone and had plenty of time to go through without the masses.
Went to the cave in the middle of October 2025, so pretty off season, went for the first opening time at 9:00 and that was the best decision we could have done.
We arrived at the parking lot "La scala" before 8, got the bus at 8 AM to the capo caccio and waited for the cave to open. We were there only 4 people together on the first entry.
The path down the stairs took around 10 minutes max since we weren't slowed down by any masses like other people when going during high season.
We had extra detailed tour, which lasted around 30 minutes, the guide spoke nice English and Italian. Explained everything in detail, had good knowledge of the cave and the processes.
The way back up took around 10 minutes again, as this time we didn't stop by to take photos. In the morning the path to the cave is in the shade, so the sun wasn't an issue.
We went to the green cave right after, as the green cave opens up at 10AM.
People who say the stairs are problem are rather unfit. Definitely do not recommend unfit people to take the stairs. You can take a boat from the Alghero to the cave."

"A highlight of my trip to Sardinia! Did not expect it to be as great. The stairs can be challenging especially on the way up, but you’re surrounded by incredible views all long which makes it worth it. The cave itself was spectacular!
Make sure to book your time slot few days ahead of the visit. After you receive the reservation on your email, then you can either pay/purchase the ticket online or at the ticket office in front of the cave. Note that the (unpaid) reservation is the most important thing to have and show to the staff.
There are at least two different buses that go to the cave from different parts of the city or nearby beaches (Mugoni beach for example or the nearby parking).
The buses might be few minutes later than what Google Maps shows, but they eventually arrive.
It is recommended to not park at the cave, but rather in the nearby beach parking areas"

"The most spectacular cave I've ever been to. Very large, with extremely old formations. Too bad they had to destroy a large part of it to make it accessible.
If you don't arrive 40 minutes before, you have to wait another hour until the next group comes. There are no buses in high season, only by boat or your own car, or taxi."
