Just got back from Japan's Seto Inland Sea, diving deep into the Benesse Art Site. This isn't just an art collection, it's a pilgrimage site scattered across islands like Naoshima and Teshima. Created by the Japanese billionaire Fukutake family, it gave me serious Bond villain vibes (but with beautiful Tadao Ando museums!). Think people fishing next to helipads and Sotheby's totes beside villagers...

Hi. We have one day (0 night) to spend on Teshima and Naoshima. The original plan was to visit only Naoshima, but we'd like to try to see both islands. The plan is: * Arrive at Uno Station at 8:25 * Catch the 8:40 ferry to Teshima * Bus from Ieura Port to Teshima art museum *…

Reviews Summary

Visitors rave about the artistic beauty and serene atmosphere of Mount Ko-on Viewpoint and the surrounding Benesse Art Site. The unique 'waterfall' artworks and the charming canal path are frequently highlighted as memorable aspects. While the art itself is highly appreciated, some visitors wish for more information about the artists and their works.

"The best part this art House Project is the walk to it through the neighborhood, and the amazing building. The artwork is beautiful, especially the waterfall pieces."

J Matthew Thomas

"Probably my favorite out of all the Art House experiences. You can rest your weary feet on the tatami mats and if the heat is too oppressive, the Waterfall room is really special and inviting. Staff was very friendly too. The contrast between “dry garden” and “wet painting” was actually quite cool. The path to the house also takes you through a charming canal, so beautifully art directed and clean it felt part of the whole experience."

Jules D

"Love the house projects and being able to see the stunning architecture. Almost no information (if even any) on the art or artist available which should be provided for a better experience and understanding"
