What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Pico da Vara offers a rewarding hike through a unique laurel forest, with the summit providing potentially spectacular views. However, the trail can be very muddy and slippery, and frequent fog often obscures the summit vistas, leading to mixed experiences for visitors.
"Even though we ended up in a fog at the summit and had no view, the hike was still good and enjoyable.
I would recommend sturdy footwear to everyone, as it can get quite slippery in places. Also, relatively early in the hike, hikers often leave their walking sticks behind on the way back, which are worth picking up."

"This is a nice walk. It took us aproximetly one hour to get there. The trail is in woods, nothing special. But I consider it like good little exercise."

"The trail is not difficult from a technical standpoint but its steep for sure. The path itself is not really special. On the way up there are about two points which provide a nice view the rest is mostly in the Forrest. The view on top of Pico da Vara must be spectacular, I can't say because when we went up the weather was bad. I would not do this hike if the weather is bad, because as noted the trail itself is nothing spectacular."
