Reviews Summary

Visitors praise the Museo de la Ciudad Luis de Morales as an excellent, well-laid-out museum offering a superb and free glimpse into Badajoz's history, particularly its siege battles through detailed dioramas. While the lack of English descriptions is a drawback for some, the friendly staff and intuitive layout make it a highly recommended and enriching experience for understanding the city's past.

"A really excellent museum, modern, well laid out great Siege dioramas. All in all a superb museum that was free and was empty when we visited."

"No English descriptions unfortunately, but some fascinating models of various battles from the Peninsular War, with hundreds of tiny soldiers attacking castles etc. A lot of money has been put into what is no doubt an excellent museum, but unfortunately we couldnt understand much of it."

Lexi B

"An interpretation center on the history of Badajoz in many formats (panels, dioramas, maps, books, photography, models, translations, recreations, newspaper covers, etc.)

The tour is meant to be done at leisure and to read about its centuries of history in its many rooms. The building is a large house with a courtyard that houses the Mercury of the Giralda, and almost all the rooms are on the first floor.

The Hall of the Poets Who Ruled Badajoz is a real discovery (although the screen and audio are no longer working today), with some bilingual Arabic-Spanish texts.

War lovers will be entertained by the painstakingly executed dioramas of the battles in Badajoz and Albuera, with cartographic displays of each site.

There are several rooms, each focusing on the history, personalities, and architecture of the city.

Those who want to gain a broader perspective of the city of Badajoz should visit this free center, where they will be warmly welcomed."
