Some find the atmosphere a bit eerie, but most appreciate its distinctiveness and recommend it for its tranquility and photographic potential.
"Another of the many beautiful outdoor spaces in the UK. Didn’t know the UK even had an area of desert but this area is classified as such. It’s mentally relaxing to be sitting there and staring out into nature.
A must do for enthusiastic birders."

"Beautiful contradiction. One of the most unusual places I have visited in Britain. Would definitely go back - would love to see it in the winter!"

"Breathtaking, if a little eerie, the landscape and homes are amazing and you could literally spend months walking different routes and seeing the scenery, tiny galleries and stunning and odd properties. 2 lighthouses, 2 pubs, a cafe and a fish bar that we've found so far on a few trips out here. And then there's the power station, which is dwarfed by it's natural surroundings. Definitely worth a visit, or a stay."
