"Such a neat place!

We were visiting our son at Appalachian State & had lunch in the park across the street from the Daniel Boone Native Gardens.

I happen to really enjoy exploring anything historical. I recommend checking out the cabin on the property. If you can, please make a donation to support the garden.

Check out my pics/videos.

"We decided to visit on a rainy afternoon. We were the only people there so we really got to spend some time looking around. The setting and buildings are really beautiful. The problem is so much of the gardens have not been kept up and now require alot of maintenance to get them back in shape. Weeding, mulching, clean-up even poison ivy. We left a donation and I know everyone is short staffed in Boone, so we are crossing our fingers they get some help or volunteers."

Andrea Sparks

"Best time to visit the garden is in the Spring and Summer when everything is blooming. However, even during the Fall there's still the beauty of nature in this small garden. It's fun learning the names of all the plants in the garden. The place offers volunteer opportunities as well."
