Springs?
My family wanted to go to Ginnie Springs this weekend but given the incidents that happened on memorial day I don’t think it’ll be a good idea. I’ve heard good things about ichetucknee but the main reason we wanted to go to ginnie was for tubing and ichetucknee seems to be more…

What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise the incredibly clear waters and abundant fish, offering a beautiful natural escape. However, many note that the park can become overcrowded, especially on weekends, with long lines for entry and limited spots for activities like tubing. Strict rules regarding food and drinks, along with occasional inconsistent enforcement of noise levels, can detract from the experience for some.
"We hiked the Trestle Pass trail that follows the river. The water is so clear you can see all the fish. Lots of tubers enjoying this park. Tube rentals are affordable but show up early to make sure you can get one. There are limited spots available (100) per day in order to preserve the ecosystem. Great park that you need to visit."

"The north entrance spring was closed off today due to an alligator visiting (yes, really), and once it reopened, it felt like a free-for-all. The spring quickly got overcrowded, and it was tough to enjoy with people blasting music on boom boxes and no real enforcement of noise levels.
Rules like no drinks or snacks anywhere near the trails or water made things tricky—especially with kids or if you just wanted to stay hydrated on a hot day.
The rangers we encountered weren’t particularly friendly, and overall the vibe felt more like crowd control than a nature escape. The water itself is beautiful, but if you go, I’d recommend arriving early or waiting for a quieter weekday.
Not my favorite spring, but it had its moments. Just not the peaceful float we were hoping for."

"The line to get into the park took about 30 minutes! When we got to the front, we realized it was bc the staff taking our payment was quite talkative! After that line, we found parking and we to get in ANOTHER line to check in (we made reservations online). Again, the staff member was quite long winded, which explains the long wait. But I’m guessing they’re trying to preemptively answer questions they frequently get, so I understand, but a piece of paper or a text message with instructions would have sufficed. Our reservation was for 9:30 am, we got to the park entrance around 8:45 am, we didn’t get on the river until around 11! Maybe that’s normal? But if we needed to arrive 1.5 hours BEFORE our reservation time, they should mention that when you make a reservation. I won’t go back until the other launch is open, it was too short of ride on the river. And to go swimming in the springs, we had to drive to the South Entrance, which had another long line. We should have gone to Rainbow River this year instead. I’ll go back to Ichetucknee next year when the Midpoint Launch is open again."
