What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Fremont Street Experience is lauded for its vibrant, old-school Vegas charm and energetic nightlife, especially after dark with its dazzling canopy shows and free live music. Visitors appreciate the affordability compared to the Strip and the unique attractions like SlotZilla. However, some find it overly crowded and chaotic, and caution is advised regarding potential scams.
"The Fremont Street Experience in downtown Las Vegas is a vibrant blend of history, entertainment, and modern spectacle. Stretching across five blocks, this iconic pedestrian mall is famous for its massive LED canopy—Viva Vision—which lights up the sky with dazzling light shows synced to music. It honors the legacy of old Vegas, where some of the city's first casinos and neon signs originated, offering a nostalgic yet electrifying atmosphere. Live performances, street artists, zip lines, and bustling crowds make it a hub of constant energy. While some view it as a more gritty, less polished counterpart to the Las Vegas Strip, others appreciate its authentic, raw charm. Fremont Street Experience is a dynamic space where the past and present of Las Vegas collide, making it a must-see destination for visitors seeking both history and high-energy entertainment."

"My experience at Fremont Street in Las Vegas’ Old Town was absolutely electrifying, with two visits offering distinct vibes. I went once at dusk and once at night, and both times were unforgettable, though the later it got, the more vibrant the atmosphere became.
The street pulses with energy, packed with tourists soaking in the lively scene. There’s something for everyone: DJs spinning tracks, street performers dressed as quirky characters, live bands belting out tunes, dancers moving to the beat, and magicians pulling off tricks that draw gasps from the crowd. The Fremont Street Experience canopy show is a highlight, with its dazzling light displays and music synchronized across the massive overhead screen, leaving everyone in awe. Snapping photos with the vibrant backdrop or quirky street characters added to the fun, creating memorable keepsakes from both visits. The atmosphere feels like a non-stop party, and it’s hard not to get swept up in the excitement.
That said, the environment can feel a bit chaotic. The smell of marijuana lingers in the air, especially at night. Earlier in the day, I noticed quite a few homeless people around, and the parking garage stairwells were grimy, with a faint stench of urine. Despite these drawbacks, the sheer energy, incredible canopy show, and photo ops make Fremont Street a must-visit. The later you stay, the more the place comes alive, each moment bursting with unforgettable chaos and charm."

"This was so fun. There is SO much happening it's hard to take it all in. The lights, the screen, the zip lining, the music, etc. I'd been to Vegas several times but never made it over here and I'm so glad I did this time! Every hour on the hour they do a cool little 5 min show with the giant screen that runs the path of the street. Definitely worth a stop."
