What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise David Crockett Birthplace State Park for its historical significance, scenic river access, and friendly atmosphere. It's a great spot for camping and family outings, though some note the visitor center's unpredictable hours and the varying amenities at RV sites.
"Nice little park. Pool is closed. RV sites do not have fire/BBQ pits. RV sites are close together, but most are pull through. River is shallow (12 to 24 inches) and good for tubing and lounging. Many shade trees. Crockett homestead is interesting."

"I was upset that when we visited the visitor center was closed. I understand that the camp part needed to be closed , but why all of it .."
Daniella Breneman
"We recently went to Davy Crockett Birthplace State Park. We did tent camping, site 88, which was near the river. It had a fire pit and plenty of space for our tent. It was also close to the bathrooms, which had showers, and a laundry room (which we didn’t use). It was fairly windy at times. There’s a path down to the river in the next site over. Every other Sunday there are people at the homestead, which was cool to check out. Everyone was super friendly. Someone in a nearby RV site gave us a fire starter, which helped get things going. Very dog friendly."
