"I retreated to Chinati Hot Springs on a whim when Big Bend was forecast to get snow and bitter cold winds in early February. Compared with my other hotel options the Chinati Hot Springs was well worth the price and the longer drive to get there. Definitely don’t use Google maps to get there, instead follow the directions from the Hot Springs website. This place was pure bliss! The room was cozy and well adorned. I love the way the whole property is set up for endless lounging opportunities. I would look forward to returning with friends in warmer weather to enjoy grilling, drinking margaritas, and enjoying a soak and beautiful sunset.
The host wasn’t super warm and welcoming, though she may have been preoccupied with helping another guest who had a flat tire… She checked me in quickly, showed me around the resort and left me to enjoy my time soaking and relaxing. Exploring the property, it’s clear that the current owners are doing a lot of work to improve the already fantastic facilities. Kudos for that!"

"Chinati Hot Springs will forever be one of my favorite places to visit in Texas. We rented the entire property and hosted our wedding here with 17 of our closest friends. The caretakers went above and beyond to ensure our wedding/ stay was simply perfect. I truly loved having the pool and hot springs all to ourselves as well as the community kitchen and firepit. We all adored Jefe the cat, the views from the ridgeline and the breathtaking ambience of golden hour during our wedding ceremony. Also, the air conditioned cabins were absolutely pristine. We couldn’t be more thankful for the amazing experience we had and I would highly recommend Chinati Hot Springs to anyone looking for the ideal West Texas get away. Thank you again for treating us so kindly. I will never forget it. Oh and I’ll be back next October!"

"El Patron room was small and rustic. Had everything that we needed. Private outdoor shower and tub were a hoot. Especially when my wife realize she would be showering outdoors! The field mouse in the tub caused a little excitement. Wife caught it and released it outside the cabin. Bed was very comfortable, but was a little too large for the size of the room. A queen size would be adequate. Dan and Diana are great hosts and gave us a lot of good information regarding local communities and the flora and fauna. The community kitchen and facilities were more than adequate. The hot spring was about 40 feet from our door. Sitting in the spring and watching the stars in the night sky was relaxing. This is a great place to stay for a few days and I highly recommend it."
