What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Lake Cunningham Recreation Area for its beautifully maintained, fee-free park with extensive amenities like a scenic lake loop trail, picnic areas, and sports facilities. It's a popular spot for walking, biking, and enjoying nature, though some find park entrance accessibility confusing at times.
"What a very nice lake and trail system they have here. There was some sort of competition going on when I was there. But for the most part, the concrete trail wasn't too busy. There were lots of trails going in and out of the trees. I did not go in cause it was too wet. Looked like the beach area was where the main competitions were. I did 6.92 miles, and it took 2 hrs 45 minutes."

"I went to Lake Cunni gham with my Plein-air group on a cloudy d
ismal day. I was glad there was a covered picnic area. We were able to paint our pictures. I had not been there in a long time it was well groomed."

"It's a keeper! This is a beautifully maintained City of Omaha and USACE property. It's a fee free park with all the bells and whistles, including launch ramp, dock, marina, picnic areas, disc golf, horseshoe pits, hiking and biking trails and more. I came for the 6.4 mile lake loop trail hike and it didn't disappoint. Vault and or portable toilets at multiple locations, leashed dogs are welcome, parking is plentiful and large enough for any size rig or RV. I had 3 bars of Verizon 4G LTE Roaming throughout the property. Campgrounds are currently closed for the holidays through Mid January."
