"The shrine is beautiful, it feels like walking in a real orthodox church. It is free to visit and there is a well stocked gift shop - from icons, incense, prayer books, bracelets, necklaces to products from Greece. We love the smell of the incense we purchased here and the kids love their bracelets. It's worth visiting."

"Incredible Experience, Peaceful, and Informative
The St. Photios National Shrine is the site of the first Greek Orthodox Church in America. There is a courtyard where you can sit and take a break from the downtown tourist crowds, a small chapel to light a candle, and two rooms with exhibits on Greek-American history.
The last room is a small gift shop, with Greek chocolate, herbal mountain tea, olive oil, icons, books, incense, and other items.
Worth stopping in, if you’re on St. George Street. There is even a monthly Paraklesis service."
