"Went on retreat here for my first true Catholic retreat, and I had an incredible time. The silence really allowed me to draw closer to God, and I really enjoyed joining the monks in chanting the hours. I was able to get away from my phone (that I spend way too much time on) and focus more on prayer, reading, and what was around me. I experienced profound personal insights, and my faith was strengthened through this retreat. The conference talks by the Guestmaster, Fr. Carlos, were inspiring.
My room in the monastic wing was clean and comfortable. All the facilities are well maintained. The library has a decent selection, but I'd recommend bringing your own books along if you have certain things you want to read. All the kitchen staff were great. Meals here are by no means gourmet, but this is a monastery, and I think it's part of the experience to have a little less than usual. That being said, there was always plenty to eat and I thought all the food was good. It's just simpler.
Overall I had a wonderful time and highly recommend going on retreat here if you get the opportunity."
