Eloy Room

Eloy Room has been Curaçao's first-choice goalkeeper for years and is the most experienced player in their squad. He spent the bulk of his club career at Vitesse in the Eredivisie, also earning a stint at Columbus Crew in MLS, and has been a consistent presence between the posts for a national team that only began competing seriously in CONCACAF qualifying in the 2010s. Room's shot-stopping and command of his area have been central to Curaçao's progress as a footballing nation, and at 37 he brings a calming authority to a relatively inexperienced squad heading into their first World Cup.
