Nikola Katic

Nikola Katic is a commanding centre-back who made his name at Rangers, where he was a physically dominant and aerially imposing presence in the Scottish Premiership. Subsequent spells at FC Zurich and Plymouth were less consistent, and his move to Schalke in 2025 represents another attempt to find a stable platform in a competitive league. The 29-year-old has been in and out of the Croatia squad, never quite cementing himself as a regular despite his obvious physical attributes. His best football has come when he has had a settled run of games, something that has proved elusive in recent seasons.
