Oliver Baumann

Oliver Baumann spent the majority of his career as one of the Bundesliga's most reliable but overlooked goalkeepers, making over 300 appearances for Hoffenheim after joining in 2014. A technically sound shot-stopper with strong reflexes and composed distribution, he was consistently denied a Germany cap by the long dominance of Manuel Neuer. His international call-up came late but was earned — at 36, he represents the experienced backup option in a three-goalkeeper pool where the hierarchy is genuinely competitive. His reading of the game and command of his area have always been his strengths over raw athleticism.
