Yaya Sithole

Yaya Sithole is one of the few South African midfielders who has spent the bulk of his career in Portuguese football, spending several years at Belenenses before moving to Tondela in the second tier. That European grounding gives him a technical and tactical literacy less common among PSL-based peers, and Bafana Bafana have used him as a composed, ball-playing option in midfield. His ability to retain possession under pressure and play through lines reflects the Portuguese school of positional play he has absorbed. At 27, he is approaching his peak and will be eager to prove himself on the World Cup stage.
