History
Opened in 2002, originally called Seahawks Stadium, then Qwest and CenturyLink Field before the Lumen Field rebrand in 2021. Hosted MLS Cup finals, CONCACAF matches, and Sounders FC title runs. Known for setting crowd-noise records and hosting major international soccer events.
Getting there
I-5 and I-90 feed into SoDo. Parking is extremely limited and expensive on match days—expect $40–$80+. SoDo surface lots and garages fill fast. Pre-booking via ParkWhiz or SpotHero is strongly recommended; arrive 90+ minutes early.
Uber and Lyft designated drop-off is along Occidental Ave S and 1st Ave S. Post-match surges are severe—fares can triple. Walk several blocks away toward Pioneer Square or Capitol Hill for shorter waits and better pricing.
Link Light Rail is the best option—ride to Stadium Station (1-minute walk to gates) on the 1 Line from Sea-Tac Airport, Capitol Hill, or Westlake. King County Metro buses also serve SoDo. Trains run frequently; expect packed post-match platforms.
