I’m a bit confused, is it better to turn off before Westerway or to continue through to Maydena? Sorry for the dumb question, I’m just getting conflicting information.

What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise the awe-inspiring beauty of the ancient, giant eucalyptus trees and the tranquil Styx River, describing the reserve as a pristine and peaceful sanctuary. The challenging access road is a common point of mention, requiring careful driving, but most agree the effort is well worth the reward of experiencing this unique natural wonder.
"See this. Before climate change gets to it, before the illegal logging (which is evident in sections) catches up to it, before corporations sell the lie that its destruction is for the greater good. See these beautiful areas before it's too late.
Tasmanian government works hard to upkeep this. Don't be scared off by the road leading to the walks.
River walk is approx 15mins FYI."

"Gorgeous walk, beautiful and isolated.
Probably a bit boring for large families as there isn’t a playground and the trees are too tall to climb, more of a place to go if you want some peace and quiet or just to detour from a road trip and stretch your legs.
If you go past the road a bit there’s a huge fallen tree to take a look at, but be careful I don’t think it’s being monitored. Not sure how stable it is.
There is also a river walk, didn’t get a chance to see it but it looked really nice.
The drive to was also very beautiful, gorgeous views. But just watch out there’s a ton of potholes as you get closer!"

"Amazing temperate rainforest with huge old-growth eucalyptus trees. Last part of drive there was on roughly 10km of unpaved, pretty rough road. We had a car, which was really no problem, but it was slow going in sections."
