Tips for not making the line to Museum of Natural History an all-day event

We purchased tickets for 10:30 entry, missed it. Think they’ll honor the unused tickets next day? Long story is I goofed hard on subway directions, teens didn’t dress for weather and seem unable to stand for hours plus in this nor’easter weather. We were thinking to try again…

Museum of natural history question

My family is headed to NYC for thanksgiving. We would like to go to MONH. When I go online for tickets, you have to pick times for all the different exhibits (whales, butterflies, elephants, etc…) and they all have to be 1 hour apart. There’s about 5 of them plus the others…

Slightly Out of Center

It's about a 35-minute public transport ride from the city center, but well worth the journey. 🚌

Visitors praise the National Museum of History for its comprehensive overview of Bulgarian history, from ancient times to the communist era. The magnificent gold hoards and the impactful communist period exhibits are frequently highlighted. While some find the displays slightly dated, the sheer volume of artifacts and the impressive Soviet-era architecture make it a worthwhile visit, especially considering its affordability.

"Good rainy day activity that gives a full overview of Bulgarian history from Stone Age to the presence. A great introduction for people who are new to Bulgaria. There are lots of English instructions as well although some parts of history were described in less detail than others. Still very worthwhile."

"A super museum with a clear timeline of the long history of Bulgaria from Neolithic times to the last century. Amazing displays, only slightly dated looking, very well thought out and with English translations. The gold hoards are magnificent! Slightly out of town, about 35 mins from centre via public transport, but well worth it! Cafe facilities which we did not avail ourselves of, as well as a good gift shop. Highly recommend!"
