Finds from Seaham this week!
A few of my finds from Seaham, UK this week. I'm curious if anyone knows what the yellow/white piece at the top might be. Is it milk glass? I should also say that I can't really call the red piece a "find" as it was very kindly given to me by another sea glass hunter ❤️

Trip to the North
Visiting Durham in the next few weeks - places to visit, places to avoid, decent restaurants, pubs etc. If anyone could advise.
Postcards from Seaham
This time last week I was in Seaham, having travelled 5 hours North for my birthday weekend. Wanting to see what all the fuss was about, but also wanting to just *be* for a couple of days. Real life is difficult right now, and we find jewels where we can… About Seaham: it’s on…

What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Seaham Hall offers a luxurious spa and elegant accommodations, with many guests praising the Serenity Spa's facilities and the helpfulness of the staff. However, some dining experiences have been marred by overly salty dishes, and a few guests noted minor issues with lodge amenities like hot water. ⭐
"Visited for a spa day, the facilities were okay, an upgrade would be nice to the steam room / jacuzzi but generally enjoyed the spa. I do think chlorine in one of the jacuzzis was too much (burnt my nose and eyes) I left quickly. The massage rooms were good and the heated bed a nice touch, the temple spa products were lovely too. I didn’t like the lunch, I had the pork and it was too salty, the whole dish didn’t work for me. Overall the ambience is nice just a few things to note to make it better."

"Fabulous spa with outdoor tubs for moonlight romantic dips. The walk from the hotel via the underground stream is a great way in. We spent most of our time outside. Inside, it was a little sad to see young men (KDs age - see his/her review) sat about fiddling with their phones looking bored. And sure the music seemed a bit loud for a "relaxing" zen room experience, but a minor complaint. As for KD's claim that the place was "tired" is odd as their photos seem to show the same room that we stayed in, room 21. We stayed here many years ago and the place looks just as good. We thought this room was fabulous. As for the staff - also fabulous ☺️.
So, why have I given Seaham Hall 4 stars, not 5. Well, it's the dinner. We had the scolups which were very good, but the lamb was a disappointment. Just like so many restaurants today, high quality meat is spoilt by being covered in sub standard jus overloaded with salt. I had to wet my napkin so that I could rub my lips clean of salt. It's also a little sad to see people not bothering to wear some nice clothes for dinner when the staff try so hard to make the experience memorable."

"We did have a lovely stay here. Staff were very pleasant and helpful, and our lodge was lovely, with everything we needed! A couple of points to make - we ran out of hot water after 2 showers, apparently due to the size of the water tank, and were told this would keep happening. Not very helpful when it's a lodge for 4 people! We also couldn't get the heating to change and it kept reverting back to the scheduled settings. The spa was lovely and we enjoyed the many different areas, very relaxing. However I did find my massage a bit disappointing, after asking for firmer pressure when the therapist checked in with me, but this didn't last long. I didn't feel that it was worth what I paid for it, especially after having similar treatments at other spas for much less."
